For the 2024-25 academic year, CBSE has adopted a Relative Grading system to promote a healthier academic environment and reduce competitive stress. Unlike the previous fixed-range grading (e.g., A1 for 91-100, A2 for 81-90), the new system assigns grades based on a student’s performance compared to their peers, varying by subject and the number of students who pass.

This year, over 42 lakh students participated in the board exams held from February 15 to April 4. The Class 10 exams wrapped up on March 18, while Class 12 exams concluded on April 4.
In 2024, the Class 10 exams saw 22,38,827 students, with 20,95,467 passing, achieving a pass rate of 93.60%. For Class 12, 16,21,224 students appeared, and 14,26,420 passed, yielding an 87.98% pass rate.
